Happy customer !

I'm remodeling a kitchen and the customer chose these tiles for her backsplash. I had never installed metal clad ceramic tile before so I spent some time reading reviews others had posted. After sharing my concerns and trepidations with problems others had reported with this product we decided to try them out with the understanding she would switch to something else if we were having installation problems.
One reviewer complained that they turned blue when they cut them. I bought a new blade for my wet saw and made sure there was plenty of water spray and I had no trouble. I suspect the other reviewer either had a dull blade or was not using a wet saw. Either of those mistakes could overheat the metal which would cause it to turn blue. I also had no problems with burrs as others reported.
Another complaint I read was that the edges of the metal was extremely sharp. I thought they were referring to the raw edge left after cutting the tile. I promptly sliced the end of my thumb when removing the clear plastic wrap from the first tile! Yes! The metal edges are quite sharp so be careful! What I found worked best in handling the tiles was to slice the plastic wrapping in the center and tear it off towards the sides to avoid touching the edges of the tile. Then I would seperate the tile from the cardboard package backer and lay it back on the package backer face side down . I then buttered the back of the tile with the tile adhesive and then placed the tile on the wall using the cardboard as a tray on which to move the tile which held it rigid and allowed me to set the lower edge and tilt it up into place without worrying about handling the sharp edges of the tile.
Finally, it's important to wipe excess glue and grout from the tile wiping ONLY in the direction of the brush grain in the tile to avoid unsightly scratches.
I installed 30 square feet of tile this way with no problems. I encountered no damaged or dented tile as some others reported. The job looks great and the customer is delighted. My only complaint would be that the tiles really need to come with some warnings about the sharp edges and more comprehensive handling instructions
